Dan Deckelbaum is a 2x state championship HS lacrosse coach and has trained or coached hundreds of HS players on their way to playing in college. Dan was a leading scorer, final 4 participant and 4 year starter at the University of Delaware. He went on to play at the highest level in both the MLL (professional outdoor) and NLL (professional indoor). He is also the offensive coordinator at Avon Grove HS, a powerhouse public HS in South East Pennsylvania. Being a current high school coach and former pro player, Dan is familiar with the college recruiting process and has an extensive network of connections in college lacrosse. Dan grew up in Baltimore, playing lacrosse at 4 years old he has over 30 years of lacrosse experience.
Playing Career:
- High School – All time leading scorer at Owings Mills HS, Maryland. 2x All American.
- College – 4 year letter winner at University of Delaware. Degree in health and exercise science. Leading goal scorer- 2006. Member of 2007 Final 4 team- best season in school history. 2x All-Conference, named to Colonial Athletic Conference Silver (25 year) Anniversary Team.
- Professional- 28th selection in 2007 MLL draft by Chicago Machine. Played 6 seasons in the MLL and 3 seasons in the NLL (Philadelphia Wings).
- Coaching – Coached University of Delaware as a graduate assistant and volunteer assistant, 2008 (spring) and 2009 (fall). Led Tower Hill HS to a DE state championship in 2009.
- Coached Avon Grove HS to a 2017 PIAA state championship, District 1 titles (2013, 2014), 2nd and 4th place finishes in PIAA state championship. 2x Assistant coach of the year. Overall record as HS coach: 186 – 48, 79% win percentage.
- Club Lacrosse- Previously Coached with Baltimore Elite LC, Nxt LC, Dukes LC, Rising Sons LC, Road Warriors Box LC, director of lacrosse at West Chester Lacrosse Association, director of lacrosse at Maplezone Sports Institute.
